From The Director's Desk
Ume Choudhry is the owner and Director of both the Hillsborough and Warren centers. She brings with her 30 years of experience in the child care field. She earned a Bachelor's degree from Punjab University and a Master's degree in Psychology from Rutger's University. As a registered child care provider she completed training to earn her Child Development Associate credentials. All of the staff members at A Bright Start Child Development Center are certified teachers trained in first aid and pediatric CPR. Twice a year, Ume as well as the rest of her staff complete continuing education classes thru in-service sessions to maintain an up to date educational curriculum. Ume currently works with Hillsborough school district's special needs department to ensure the best care for her children who have disabilities or behavioral problems. In some cases she has met with the child's teachers, case worker and the parents to come up with a curriculum or plan that best fits the needs of the child. These children are given the same message as the other children where rules are made for them and incentives are given to them for their success. No child is left behind at her centers. One of Ume's goals was always to open a day care center and she successfully did that and now is opening her second center in Warren. When asked how she handles the competition around her she simply stated "I'm sure there is enough business to go around, and I don't worry about what the other places are doing, I keep my focus on operating the best center I can."
