Our summer camp program has been designed to give children a safe, clean and really fun environment to spend their summer in! Our program is set-up to meet the needs of your family with 2, 3 and 5 day programs.
The camp is set-up with a different focus each week including: AMERICA!, Summer Sports, Clowning Around, etc. Each week every camper will enjoy water play and cooking activities as well as special "visiting" field trips! The Lizard Guys are always a huge hit! These visiting field trips allow us to include children under the age of three (which is the minimum bussing age) as well as staff and family members. However we will have a minimum of two "away" field trips that will be open for children ages 3+ that are out of diapers. You are welcome to join us on these trips as is any member of your family!

Swimming Program
Swimming lessons wll be available to the children of A Bright Start through the Hillsborough Racquet Club. The specifics are as follows: This is open to all children of ABS ages 3+ that are totally potty trained! They will be bussed by Joy Bussing between A Bright Start and the Hillsborough Racquet Club. Three staff members of A Bright Start will escort the children on the bus and will remain at the HRC for the entire time. They will be in the water with the children and will assist them in the bathrooms.
Swimming lessons will be for a 1/2 hour and a free swim session will follow for a 1/2 hour. The lessons start on June 29th and will end on August 31st. The cost per child is $153.00 for the ten week program. The last day to sign up is May 15, 2009. As we have a signed contract with the HRC and Joy Bussing there will be NO REFUNDS. A formal permission slip will follow your deposit.

Karate Lessons
Master Kyle is a Karate instructor in Somerville. He is excellent with young children and provides them with a weekly 45 minute instructional class. They focus on blance, gross motor coordination, listening skills and then work into "kicks" all while having a lot of fun. We have had Master Kyle come in and do a demonstration class with the children, and they all enjoyed his approach. he provides a fun and developmentally appropriate program. H would like to come to ABS one morning per week for the Summer program, a total of eight weeks. he gives each child a t -shirt (that they should wear on Karate days) and provides a "graduation" ceremony at the completion of the program. We are proud to have him come to our school.
If you are interested in this program the cost per child is $80.00 for the eight week program. The last day to sign up is May 15, 2009. As with the Swim program, we have a signed contract with Master Kyle and are obligated to fulfill it and there will be NO REFUNDS. A formal permission slip will follow your deposit.
Reading Program
This requires no special permission, no extra fees and minimal paperwork! We ask only for your support! It will be an incentive/reward based reading program for camp kids to participate in. Although we do believe that children should read for the LOVE of reading it's difficult to compete with video games and computers! That is the reason why it's incentive based. This is for both readers and children who are just beginning to learn so everyone is included! We hope to carry through the summer the learned or emerging reading skills each child has and enhancing them by inviting them to read!
